Why are long tail keywords important for blog SEO?
By Sarah Gretzinger
In reality, there are two important reasons why a blogger or writer should focus on long tail key words. The first being more effective SEO ranking and the second being higher conversion rates.
More Effective SEO
It is much easier for Google to rank your website when using long tail key words than it is for Google to rank it by using more common key words because fewer websites compete for high rankings in the result pages of Google. The longer (and more specific) search terms are, the easier it is to rank for the term.
The internet is a vast place and it is easier to find an audience for your particular niche when focusing on specific key words that are targeted. By focusing on a group of long tail keywords, it will result in a great deal of traffic altogether.
Higher Conversion Rates
Everyone wants their blog to have high conversion rates and if you are looking to boost yours, adding long tail key words is the way to go. The second benefit for blogs who use long tail keywords is that visitors who find your website are more likely to become regular visitors of your blog, maybe they even subscribe to your newsletter, or download that Ebook you spent weeks working on. The longer and more precise the search terms are, the higher the conversion rates are. People who use very particular key words have a clear idea of what they are looking for. And individuals who know what they’re looking for are much more likely to become frequent visitors! Use long tail key words to focus on an audience, and watch your conversion rates grow. Not only will this help grow your visitors but it is also a very profitable SEO-tactic.
